What defines a successful woman? What makes them the way they are? I’ll be looking at how women who maneuver through life successfully go about it and how you too can do the same.
Being successful seems like an exciting prospect for most, but what they seem to ignore is that it comes with a lot of added responsibilities. It is a tedious task to juggle multiple aspects of one’s personal and professional life together. This can prove to be a daunting task especially for women, due to the added expectations of having to dedicate themselves entirely to their families and children. In this endless loop of waking up early, having a 9-5 job and running around for chores, some women forget to take care of the most necessary person in their lives- themselves. What makes a woman successful is the near-smooth functioning of not only their professional but also their personal lives. Here come in smart women who don’t wait until a mental breakdown to take a break. Women who practice self-love and care for themselves have a better chance at succeeding in their lives and creating an atmosphere of mental and emotional well-being around them. There are certain habits that are practiced by these women that help them prioritize self-care in their busy routines. Rather than adding more to their plates, these practices enable them to find happiness and mental peace in their busy schedules.
One of the cornerstones of self-love is looking after one’s own body. When one looks good, they automatically feel good and are further motivated to live a healthy lifestyle. Women who rule their homes and workplaces have one common factor- they all exercise regularly. That doesn’t entail being a gym junkie and spending hours altogether in the gym. One can commit to their good health by simply going for a short walk or jog every day, or maybe going to the gym thrice a week. The idea here is to be more efficient by feeling and looking good.
Everyone needs some “me” time once in a while, and for working people it is all the more essential. Women stuck in a tiring circle of work may find the need to recharge and recalibrate in some way or the other. After all, being surrounded by people 24/7 is bound to take a toll on one’s mental health, and one needs to take some time out for themselves at regular intervals of time. This doesn’t mean packing the bags suddenly one day and going on a long vacation, leaving behind only a note. Women should take small breaks periodically where they could devote their time in their favorite hobbies, such as reading, writing, singing, watching a movie, traveling or maybe just taking a solitary walk around the city. This time is useful for reflecting, meditating and mulling over things.
Successful women treat self-care just like any other important task on their to-do lists and prioritize it. Self-care, quite an important aspect of one’s life is treated by many as secondary to other things, when it should rather be the opposite. Treating oneself to spa appointments, massage sessions, or even a fine dinner sometimes can make a huge difference in the way people perceive themselves and their well-being. Frequent health check-ups are another way of taking good care of oneself.
Success is mostly based on the tenet of never saying no, embracing all opportunities and accepting every challenge head-on. But many people don’t realize that after a certain period of time, this can be extremely harmful for one’s own mental well-being. They need to realize that it is okay to say NO once in a while. What they should always say ‘yes’ to is their own happiness and peace, which tend to hover on the sidelines often. It is perfectly alright to want to say yes in a professional or a personal setting, but what they need to be mindful of is the fact that one has a responsibility towards oneself as well.
Indulging in a little bit of guilty-eating is alright once in a while, but women who are successful in their lives make it a point to eat healthy. Eating healthy not only helps in increasing the overall energy levels and productivity, but it also improves one’s stamina and overall appearance. So really, it’s a win-win. Productive and efficient women also follow a strict sleep-regimen along with meditation, in order to keep their creative levels steady.
We as humans have a general tendency of attracting all things negative. That includes negative thoughts and energy. To retain a sense of balance in their lives, successful women make a conscious effort to be positive in all aspects of their lives. People tend to gravitate towards those who exude positivity. It is easier said than done; as well all have extremely low tolerance levels and can learn to accumulate negativity within us, just like a bad habit. What makes these women more successful than others is their ability to break out of this cycle of negativity and be a powerhouse of positivity.
It is essential for people to be in touch with their inner selves and reflect and ponder over their day-to-day happenings. Writing down things can be beneficial in multiple ways. It can help one to keep track of one’s emotions and maintain a healthy relationship with oneself. By documenting weekly or daily reflections, it is possible to derive inspiration later by revisiting these old entries. To-do lists are also an important part of the lives of successful women, as apart from being good reminders they help to clear the mind and realign focus on things that are actually important.
Often times we get so busy with our regular lives and lose touch with people that had earlier been a significant part of our lives. Juggling our chores on top of our private and professional lives can be quite a challenge. Successful women know how to keep their social circles going strong. Nobody can live as a hermit in isolation as all humans need some sort of socializing outside their families and colleagues.
