The Summer’s Trendiest Baby Clothes

There are many cute ways to dress up your baby for the summer. Whether it’s to make them comfortable for the season or a celebrate holiday, trendy baby clothes are a way to show your fashion sense. Need help deciding what to buy? This list will help you decide.

What should you look for?

Looking for baby clothes with many excellent options available can feel overwhelming. While shopping, keeping a few basic ideas in mind can make the job so much easier.

Safety

Safety should be your number one concern when buying baby clothes. Clothes shouldn’t bind the child uncomfortably, have cords they could get tangled up in, be flame retardant, and not have loose fastenings or decorations that can come up that they can put in their mouths. Remember, if it can fit into a toilet paper tube, your child can likely swallow it.

Ease of Use

Having 100 snaps (yes, this is hyperbole) to fasten every time you want to get your child in and out of their clothing isn’t fun. Your baby isn’t going to sit still while you try to line everything up.

Stain-resistant

No matter how much you love your child, you’re not going to want to buy an outfit you have to throw out after the baby wore it once because they had a poopy diaper.

Sizing

It’s no secret that babies grow up fast. Chances are incredibly likely that you’ll have to buy more clothes for your baby through the season. Pick a few select items that you’ll update rather than choosing to replace your child’s outfit every few weeks. While age may be one factor, the more prominent determining factors when selecting infant clothes are height and weight.

Fabric

Newborns have super sensitive skin. What you or I could wear that would be nothing to us might itch or irritate the baby. But just because you need to be conscious of what might bother your child doesn’t mean you can ignore other factors. Some other factors include:

  • Ease of washing: you don’t want to have to do separate loads of laundry because the baby clothes have special washing instructions.
  • Durability: just because your baby might outgrow their clothes quickly is no excuse for them to fall apart. The concept of durability extends not only to the material itself but the clothing’s stitching, fastenings, and decorations. You want to ensure that your baby can move and that it can’t easily snag on items it may run into.
  • Softness: the softer the material is, the better. Swaddling your baby in soft clothes can help them be more comfortable and may even help them sleep better.

Styles for your baby

When you dress yourself, using fun graphics and patterns is an excellent way to showcase your style. The same can be said when you dress your child in trendy baby clothes. Think of the patterns and designs you like and use them as a base to add shoes or accessories to them.

Matching outfits & headgear

There are a variety of ways that you can have matching outfits and headgear. These accessories make cute additions to your baby’s outfits.

  • You can have a onesie that you knot at the bottom and an adorable matching headband.
  • Similarly, you can trade out the headband for a hat.

In either case, both the outfit and headgear can change according to the occasion – a day at the beach or a formal family gathering. By just changing this one accessory, you can alter your baby’s sense of style.

Top & Short Sets

Top and Short sets are yet another example of how you can change up your baby’s looks.

  • Using a ruffle top is a way of dressing up your baby while allowing for both comfort and mobility.
  • Choosing a “muscle tank” is another option for those sweltering days to allow maximum cooling. When it gets cool, have a lightweight short-sleeved shirt on hand.
  • Graphic t-shirts are another possible option to choose for your baby. Choose the characters, patterns, colors, sayings, and style that best matches your mood.

Whichever of these looks you choose for your child, you can change the outfit’s feel by changing the shorts or shirts.

Flounce Tank Dresses

Flounce tank dresses are the best way to revel in the summer heat. They allow your baby to keep cool while granting them a cute sense of fashion.

Sweatsuits for baby

You might think that sweatsuits are the last thing you want to buy for your baby with the weather getting so warm, but you’d be wrong. Because babies’ bodies can’t regulate as well as adults can, they are apt to get colder faster. So why not use that to dress them in a trendy tie-dye sweatsuit?

Short Rompers or Jumpsuits

Both of these options are perfect for summer because they’re one-piece outfits. The “shorts” are excellent for warm days, whereas the jumpsuits are ideal for cooler weather. In either case, grab a few warmer accessories to help if temperatures drop more than anticipated.
