LOA will not help you succeed in life. Mediation will not help you succeed in life. At least not by themselves. You will not get anywhere in life unless you develop a strong work ethic. A strong work ethic will get you incredibly far in life. In fact, it will also help you overcome the hardest parts of your life by making you resilient, tough and immune to criticism. What better way to be motivated to develop such a work ethic and hard working attitude than to see some real life examples of successful people?
The following is a list of people who have worked incredibly hard in life to get where they are now.
-
Carlos Ghosn– Ghosn is definitely cashing in on his frequent-flier miles. He travels 150,000 miles annually for work. He is the CEO behind the turnaround of Nissan, as well as the CEO of Renault. This is another man who has worked hard for the companies he owns, spend 48 hours each month flying and putting in 65-hour work weeks.
-
Michael Jordan- Nearly any basketball fan knows who Jordan is, the incredible basketball player for the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards. If you ask Jordan about his success, he will not tell you that he was blessed with some kind of physical capability. He has risen to the top on hard work as well. In fact, Jordan did not have the best jump shot when he first tried out for the National Basketball Association. In his off season, he performed several hundred jump shots each day, determined to perfect his technique. It is not his talent, therefore, but his knowledge that he was not the best and had to work constantly to achieve it, that pushed him to the top.
-
Marissa Mayer– Mayer is the CEO of Yahoo, who did not get her position by doing nothing. In fact, she used to keep one of the most rigorous work schedules around—pulling all nights and working 130 hours per week when she was employed by Google. It is even rumored that she pulled this amazing feat off by cutting her commute time and sleeping under desk while she was working. She now holds one of the biggest technology jobs and even those who criticize the way she manages her employees acknowledge her tireless work ethic.
-
Vince McMahon– McMahon was once a bodybuilder and now works as the head of World Wresting Entertainment (WWE). He ate, breathed, and slept wrestling, with his previous creative partner crediting that he was a hard worker. It was impossible for the partner, Vince Russo, to leave after McMahon or get to the office before him. It is his hard drive that has taken WWE to where it is today, 40 years later.
-
Indra Nooyi– The average college student will complain about having to work a part-time job while doing their schooling, but not Indra Nooyi. Nooyi is the current CEO of the Pepsi Company. While attending College at Yale, she worked from midnight until 5 in the morning as a receptionist each night. Even today she puts in long hours, sometimes staying up as late as midnight before she gets up at 4 a.m. each day to get to her job.
